Keith Whitley : Considered by many traditional country music listeners to be a legendary recording artist, having had an illustrious, but short career. “Don’t Close Your Eyes”, “When You Say Nothing At All” and “I’m Not Stranger to the Rain” solidified Keith Whitley in the country music history books, as one of the greatest country music recording artists of the 1980’s. Keith would succumb to alcohol poisoning at the age of 34, in May of 1989.
